Learn to Sail

VNSC has been running sailing courses in the single-handed Laser dinghy for over 25 years. After this course on beautiful (warm!) Lake Victoria you will know the basics of sailing and be able to sail a laser.

Included in the course fee is a three-month VNSC membership, which gives you the chance to use your new sailing skills and be a part of our community.

The next course dates are:

  • June 20/21 and 27/28, 2026

  • September 19/20 and 26/27, 2026

  • January 23/24 and 30/31, 2027

To sign-up, complete the form below and then make payment to the details below.

All sailors must provide a signed liability and release waiver before going on the water. Copies are available at the club. Youth sailors must have their parent or legal guardians sign the release form.

Course Fees

– non-member adults, UGX 1,000,000;
– non-member teens, UGX 500,000
– member adults, UGX 600,000 (or 150,000 per day); and,
– member teens, UGX 450,000 (or 112,500 per day)

Please note that we have kept the course cost for teens as low as we can with the aim of continuing to encourage local aspiring (or just curious!) Ugandan teens to come learn how to sail!

To reserve your spot on the course, please fill out the online registration form. Make payment at the VNSC clubhouse, mobile money, or bank transfer and share proof of payment with our club manager Emmanuel.
